Learning to Crochet (・ェ-) and Black French Tip Nails (ʘ‿ʘ )

I decided to learn how to crochet with my free time!! I tried to learn before and I could always learn to do the foundation chain. But when I got to the part where I had to turn it and create another row, I was completely befuddled by the yarn. No matter how many books I looked at and how many YouTube videos I watched I couldn't get it!!( ̄へ ̄)So I gave up....

However! Here I am again~! I found this gorgeous scarf on Tumblr and decided to give it a crack~ a try?
Anyways! It was the Anne scarf by MK Carroll but the pattern was $5.50 so I decided to seek out alternatives on the internet. I stumbled upon this amazing blog with the Queen Anne's Lace Crochet Scarf Tutorial (it even has the ends worked out!)

At first I used a 3.5 mm needle (smaller than the recommended 5 mm for the yarn) and the flowers came out all blotched and tight. It might also have something to do with my technique being too tight. ^(~)^

I took it apart and used a 5.50 mm needle with looser handiwork and it came out like this!

What do you guys think of my first project? Beautiful right? (╯▽╰)

I also found time to paint my nails~ A metallic blue with black french tips!
How do you guys think it came out? The color is more vibrant in real life (́一‵) also a bit darker... I had to lighten the picture so you guys could see.  ‎(>﹏<) IT'S  BEEN PHOTOSHOPPED! Hahaha.

Knitted Neck Scarf O(≧∇≦)O

I started this scarf or neck tie a day ago. It's a pretty quick project, even for me! I knit so slow but if you work hard, you should be able to finish in one day.

So I stayed up and am finally done with my Martha Stewart Knitted Neck Scarf.

However, instead of garter stitching across the main body, I knitted a wishbone cable~

I always wondered how they made that loop that allowed it to self tie!

Made Pockets Into My Scarf

The pockets measure about seven inches deep.
I used a single length of yarn to sew each pocket up:
I started sewing down the side of the pocket, looped it through the inside, sewed up the cable hole so nothing would fall out, sewed up the other side of the pocket and then sewing the first four stitches, the cable together, and the last four stitches so the pocket would retain shape.

It only took a really long time but it's finally done! I would have been done sooner but I decided to extend it from six feet to eight feet!

Midnight Spam Musubi ╰( ̄▽ ̄)╮

I decided to make spam musubi tonight~~

The Fortune spam can is sooo convenient for this!

Look at that! Makes the mold for you~~ ╮(╯▽╰)╭

I decided to flavor the rice as well~ I guess I'll learn how it tastes tomorrow c:
Mmmm~ I fried them in equal parts soy sauce and sugar!

Wrapping it sure made me hungry! Are you hungry as well?
I hope you enjoy looking at these pictures :DD

Chinese Bakery Birthday Cake [#2] and Cabled Scarf Update ●︿●

Gosh! I've been so busy with school lately that I haven't done anything!

I've managed to find time to back a birthday cake though~ I used a sponge cake mix I found from the Asian market that I shop at. It was a bit hard so I just used the 99 cent cake mix by Country Value.

I made the frosting from scratch so it wouldn't be sweet and cut up the kiwis myself!

(The recipe is down below)

How do you think I did?  ‎(>﹏<)

Update on the scarf:

I had to take apart my scarf because it was too thin ┐('~`;)┌ but here's the new one~

I had to add about 18 stitches. :DD
