Knitted Neck Scarf O(≧∇≦)O

I started this scarf or neck tie a day ago. It's a pretty quick project, even for me! I knit so slow but if you work hard, you should be able to finish in one day.

So I stayed up and am finally done with my Martha Stewart Knitted Neck Scarf.

However, instead of garter stitching across the main body, I knitted a wishbone cable~

I always wondered how they made that loop that allowed it to self tie!

My Edited Knitting Pattern:

1. Cast on 3 stitches
2. Knit 2, slip the last stitch purlwise.
3. With yarn in back, knit 1, increase 1 (by raised increase), knit to end of row, and slip last stitch purlwise.
4. Repeat step 3 until there are 24 stitches. (The width should be about 4 1/2 inches)
5. Knit every row until the entire piece is around 4 inches long.
6. Divide the stitches onto two needles by slipping one stitch purlwise onto one needle and slipping the next purlwise onto the other needle. Repeat until both needles have 12 stitches.
7. Rib (Knit 1, purl 1) across the needle with the yarn, slipping the last stitch purlwise, until the piece measure almost 2 inches long.
8. Break off the yarn (leaving a tail) and continue doing the same with the other needle.
9. Connect the two pieces by slipping one stitch purlwise from one needle and slipping the next purlwise from the other needle until all 24 stitches are on one needle.
10. Knit 5, purl 1, knit 12, purl 1, knit 5.
11. Wrongside: Knit 6, purl 12, knit 6.
12. Starting the cable: Knit 5, purl 1, transfer 3 stitches on a cable needle and put them in the back, knit 3 stitches and then the ones on the cable needle. Transfer the next 3 stitches onto the cable needle and then place them in front, knit 3 stitches and then the ones on the needle. Purl 1 stitch and then knit 5. (Please tell me if you need pictures or anything! :D)
13. Wrongside: Knit 6, purl 12, knit 6.
14. Knit 5, purl 1, knit 12, purl 1, knit 5.

15. Wrongside: Knit 6, purl 12, knit 6.
16. Knit 5, purl 1, knit 12, purl 1, knit 5.
17. Wrongside: Knit 6, purl 12, knit 6.
18. Repeat from step 12 to 17 until you reach approximately 15 1/2 inches (adjust to yourself).
19. Repeat from step 6 to 9 and then knit every row until you have approximately 2 1/2 inches.
20. Start decreasing: Knit 1, decrease (by knitting two together), and knit to end of the row, slipping the last stitch purlwise. Repeat this until there are only 3 stitches and then bind off.
